Many organizations, including health and the government have made it pretty obvious that many diseases are associated with the negative effects of cigarette smoking. Current studies show that people who smoke are more susceptible to lung cancer. A few of the health issues and side effects of smoking that are caused by smoking are lung cancer, throat cancer, redness of eyes, emphysema, smoker’s cough, amongst many others.

People may understand that health effects of smoking can cause lung cancer but are not aware that many other disease are associated with smoking. Other ailments that can be caused by smoking are: esophageal cancer, kidney cancer, pancreatic cancer, bladder cancer and cervix cancer.

  • A substance in all cigarettes, nicotine, is a toxic chemical that causes an addiction as one of the effects of cigarette smoking.
  • Tobacco gives off smoke that has radon and radium, poisonous compounds that causes lung cancer.
  • Blood can thicken which leads to an elevated risk of blood clots, heart strokes and heart attacks.

Smoking will release tar which finds its way to the lungs.This build-up of tar can lead to a lot of breathing problems.

Women can develop wrinkles much sooner because of the effects of cigarette smoking.

If a woman continues to smoke even when she is expecting then she will have a high risk of losing the baby because the passive effects of cigarette smoking will adversely affect the child that she is carrying inside her womb. 

Inhaling other peoples smoke has become quite a problem in today’s world. Believe it or not but even though nicotine is not deadly, the tar in the smoke is more deadly than nicotine. Adults as well as children can develop illnesses because of second hand smoke. This is one of the most horrible effects of cigarette smoking.
